Constipation|Her Body PT

Constipation is one of those things that most women do not associate with the pelvic floor.  Often however, the pelvic floor IS a contributing factor.

When the pelvic floor becomes hypertonic (too tight) or looses its' normal coordination, defecation can become challenging.  Many women end up straining or pushing to empty their bowels, causing more trauma to the pelvic floor.  Over time, chronic straining can result in issues such as prolapse, pelvic pain and leakage.

Pelvic floor physical therapy helps women learn how to correctly defecate without strain.  Dr. Moses teaches her patients how to improve upon their bowel health through behavioral modifications and pelvic floor training.
